This is one of five burial grounds (see map below) around the ruins of Straide (Strade) Abbey, and is located on the west side of the church adjacent to the main road. The Abbey was founded about 1252 and is situated on the N58 road 4 miles south of Foxford.
The politician Michael Davitt was born in Straide and is buried near the Abbey.
