Glencastle Old Cemetery Headstones

This old cemetery is situated at the main intersection in Glencastle on the R313 road, about 4 miles from Belmullet and a hundred yards from the new "Our Lady of Loudres Church".  The main cemetery gate faces "The Full Shilling" pub.  The cemetery was overgrown with brambles and weeds and the gound was very uneven. 

There is a very new cemetery adjacent, across the side-road (click Google map link above), while the main Glencastle cemetery is half a mile east along the R313 road.

Most of the graves have no markers or the headstones are too weathered to be legible.
