Inside the ruins of the
ancient Kiltane Church >>>>
This very old graveyard surrounds the ruins of an ancient church. The church was already described as "in ruins" on an Ordnance Survey map published in the 1840's.
It is well off the beaten path, about 2 miles west of Bangor, beside the river at the end of an unmade road. The grass was very high making it dangerous to walk over the broken gravestones hidden below.
Most of the graves were very old and had no legible markings.
